basic unit
Kampmann Katherm HK trench heater, ready-to-install floor trench, either for installation in raised or screeded floors, convector-based for heating and cooling with tangential fan convection. Heat and cooling outputs tested in accordance with E DIN EN 16430, parts 1 to 3. Hygiene-certified in line with VDI 6022.
Trench chassis made of sendzimir galvanised sheet steel, coated in graphite gray. Modular trench unit consisting of a connection module, a power module, and an expansion module. The connection module contains all building services interfaces, including an electrical connection and control box, an EC fan motor, a water-side heat exchanger connection, and a condensate connection on the drain side, optimized for simple, time-saving installation. The power module consists of a heat exchanger and a tangential fan with continuous, cascaded cross-flow rollers. The expansion module is for the 4‑pipe heat exchanger connection.
Features side mounting brackets and height adjustment with foot-operated stabilizers, each with impact sound insulation, for secure mounting of the duct. Includes pre-punched openings for water supply and return lines and electrical connections on the room side. Trench chassis prepared for condensate pump mounting kit. Segmented metal panels that serve as both finger protection for the tangential fan and a mounting frame for the filter fleece, along with an air-guidance panel, grate support, and cross brace to reinforce the duct. Center wall serving as both an air-guidance panel and a mounting panel for the tangential fan.
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) data is published in the form of an EPD according to EN 15804 and is available to download from the International EPD System. Registered in the building products platform DGNB Navigator. GWP (phase A1-A3), kg CO2 Äq.8,34E+01. Further calculations possible online.
Heat exchanger
High-performance heat exchanger made of circular copper pipes with aluminum fins and a 1/2-inch valve connection, coated in graphite gray. Features a sturdy anti-rotation device and simultaneous splash protection during venting. Collector with integral bleed option.

Condensate tray
Condensate tray has a flow-optimised design, for the simultaneous discharge of condensate and air guidance below the convector. Condensate tray designed as an independent component that can be removed for cleaning and maintenance in accordance with VDI 6022.
Fan
Tangential fan with safety guard. High-performance energy-saving EC fan with 0-10 V input for continuously variable speed control, sound-optimised. Integrated controller with variable cable design. Valve controlled via 24 VDC control contacts. All rotating parts have low-noise and maintenance-free bearings. Motor monitoring by integrated active temperature management. With ball bearing with long-lasting greasing.
Even flow through the convector, low power consumption for effective, energy-saving consumption, also sound-optimised for low sound values. Easily removable for cleaning and maintenance due to combined coupling/ball joint system with simultaneous acoustic decoupling. Factory-wired ready for connection. Valve control via 24 VDC control contacts.
Control
- Built-in KaControl MC controller for continuous fan control with motor monitoring.
- For the control of 24 V DC actuators (Open/Closed) for heating and cooling operation.
- With connection option for 5 multifunctional inputs (room temperature, window contact, supply and return temperature, heating/cooling changeover, condensate alarm, sequential control via a 0-10 V signal etc.), unit-specific control and regulation algorithms with the core functions of room temperature control (heating/cooling).
- Timer program with battery-backed real-time clock for four operating modes (Day/Eco/Extra/Off), commissioning function.
- Grouping of up to 10 units and a display to create a control zone using CAN-bus, automatic addressing and communication monitoring of all bus subscribers, continuous synchronisation of all statuses and parameters within the group.
- CAN bus interface and galvanically isolated RS485 interface, each with two terminal blocks for separate connection with daisy chain cabling with a switchable terminal resistor.
- connection of central functions, such as heating cooling changeover to a freely selectable unit within the group.
- Ethernet interface with two RJ45 sockets with built-in switching function.
- KNX-TP interface with socket terminal, all terminals are designed as plugs, wireless communication via Wi-Fi web server for user-friendly operation and for complete password-protected parametrisation.
- protocols can be unlocked via licences: BACnet/IP, Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, KNX.
Grille
With frame insert profile, colour-coordinated to the grille. With protective installation cover and frame trim. With screwed cover panels for the connection areas. With double T-profile grille. Connections made of corrosion-proof steel springs with matching spacers.
