Low-turbulence room ventilation

Katherm QL trench technology stands for low-turbulence room ventilation. It supplies the room effectively with treated fresh air. The fresh air is provided by a central air handling unit (AHU unit) and introduced into the room as low-turbulence displacement air via Katherm QL.

Effective cold air screening

In addition to the displacement air component, air warmed by the convector rises up along the glass facade and efficiently shields it from a drop in temperature.

Katherm QL is available with a uniform trench width and in two trench heights.

Customized production

Customized production is possible for every building architecture with individual geometries. This applies to the trench and the grille.

Low investment and maintenance costs

Thanks to its structurally simple design, Katherm QL requires very little maintenance-relevant technology. This has a positive effect on investment costs and enables straightforward maintenance.

Short installation time

Thanks to the valve connection, a quick and easy installation of Katherm QL on site is possible. In addition, height adjustment screws and step-resistant height adjustment feet are supplied as standard to further reduce installation time and therefore costs.

Protection during installation and construction period

Our Katherm trench technology products are carefully packed in cardboard packaging for transport. The grille edge trim profiles are protected against damage by green plastic profiles. A sustainable paper cover prevents dust and dirt from entering.

As the units are often installed in the building at an early construction stage, the grille can be replaced at the factory with a wooden installation cover for their protection for an additional charge. The grilles are then supplied separately packed.

Technical features

Very low outlet velocity

  • Displacement air enters the room at a low air velocity of less than 0.3 m/s.
  • It is distributed as low-impulse and draught-free airflow for maximum comfort in the occupied zone.

Displacement air design

  • Displacement air design consisting of integrated eccentrically mounted and adjustable air-guiding rollers, perforation row and deflection plates
  • For a uniformly directed and low-impulse displacement air discharge
  • Supply air connections for air introduction are mounted laterally along the trench length.

Hybrid concept

  • Central ventilation - decentralized temperature control: The combination of central ventilation via an AHU unit and decentralized air conditioning with pumped hot water enables efficient heating.

Control options

Electromechanical control

This variant is ideal for simple applications. All integrated actuators are factory-wired to a terminal and can be connected to our electromechanical accessories such as thermostats or external controllers.
