        Model size

        The units are available in several model sizes to allow the output to be tailored to requirements.

        The model size is selected depending on the required thermal performance and noise requirements.

        Larger model sizes offer higher performance, but are associated with larger housing dimensions, which must be taken into account during planning.

        Installation

        • The installation must comply with the applicable regulations.
        • The surface must be load-bearing and designed for the weight of the units.
        • The functional clearances around the machine must be observed.
        • We recommend setting up the units at a distance of at least 20 cm from the ground (or expected snow depth).
        • The units are intended exclusively for outdoor installation.
        • The location must be planned in such a way that it is easily accessible for installation, Maintenance and repairs.

        Air stream

        • The air flow over the register must be free.
        • Perfect air circulation is essential to ensure trouble-free operation of the machine.

        The following points should be avoided:

        • Obstacles in the air flow
        • Insufficient air exchange
        • Leaves or other soiling that can clog the heat exchanger.
        • Strong wind that impairs or uncontrollably increases the air flow through the register.
        • Heat sources or sources of soiling near the unit (e.g. chimneys, ventilation outlets)
        • Stratification phenomena (cold air accumulating on the ground)
        • Air short circuit (expelled air that is sucked in again)
        • High, enclosing walls and installation under protective roofs or in corners where stratification or air short circuits may occur.

        Disregarding these instructions can lead to the following problems:

        • Reducing energy efficiency
        • Malfunctions due to high or low pressure

        Sound

        • The sound pressure level is specified in free field at a distance of 1 meter from the outer surface of the unit during operation.
        • The noise levels are determined using the tensiometric method (UNI EN ISO 9614-2).

        The data refer to the following conditions for heating (units with heat pump function):

        • Water temperatures: 35/30 °C
        • Ambient temperature: 7 °C

        The data refer to the following conditions for cooling:

        • Water temperatures: 7/12 °C
        • Ambient temperature: 35 °C

        Hydraulics

        • The hydraulics must be planned in such a way that the minimum water circulation of the machine is guaranteed at all times.
        • The minimum water volume in the overall hydraulics of the heat pump / heat pump cascade must be maintained and be available to the systems at all times.

        Flammable refrigerants

        • The installation guidelines for flammable refrigerants in the installation instructions must be observed.
        • The corresponding documents for the S and M series are available in the download area.
        • Special requirements must be observed and complied with for systems with the refrigerant R290.
        • In general, the specifications of EN 378 must be observed and tested.

        Electrical connection

        • The electrical connection of the heat pumps must be planned according to the maximum connected load of the machine.
        • For large connected loads, this must be agreed with the energy supplier.
