Hotel Victory, Erding

Spectacular extension of the leisure pool

Building owner: Therme Erding GmbH

Town/City: Erding

29 pools, 26 slides, 30 saunas, 450 real palm trees and more than 4000 loungers covering an area of 185 hectares – since it was opened in 1999, Erding Spa has become Europe's largest leisure spa. The leisure pool has even recorded 10,000 visitors per day. The construction of a hotel was the logical next step against this background.

The Hotel Victory is built in the shape of a ship's hull, modelled on the HMS Victory, the ship that the legendary Lord Nelson used to teach his enemies to fear the Crown. Parallel to the hotel, a 9,000-sqm wave pool has been built, surrounded by palm trees, which reflects the maritime atmosphere perfectly.

Even the bedrooms carry on the maritime theme. Some are designed to give the feel of a luxury yacht, others the feel of a windjammer within the "sophisticated" surroundings of the HMS Victory. Comfort is top priority here. It was logical that the designers opted for Venkon EC to air condition the bedrooms, as the fan convector is the quietest in its class. It cools, heats and filters, guaranteeing a pleasant environment certified to VDI 6022. Guests can set their own room temperature on a touch panel on the wall of the room. The Venkon EC automatically switches off when windows are opened.

Advanced EC technology is fitted in the Venkon EC fan coil, saving up to 70% energy. It has continuously variable control and is also highly efficient even at low fan speeds, as the motor is always operated at its optimum operating point. Fan convectors are integrated in the building's own BMS in Erding.
