Kampmann honours a scholar from University

Lingen (Ems), 06.12.2011 – At a personal meeting last Friday, Managing Director Hendrik Kampmann honoured Kampmann GmbH's first recipient of the German National Scholarship Programme (Deutschlandstipendium). Dominique da Silva is in her third semester studying a Masters in Communication and Management on the Lingen Campus and was awarded the scholarship for her academic achievements and social commitment.

The German National Scholarship Programme comprises a monthly grant of € 300, half of which is financed by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the other half by private sponsors. The Federal Government called upon universities to attract funding for the scholarships from companies and organisation. Kampmann GmbH responded to this call and committed itself as a personal sponsor to the 24 year old student from Rheine.

"Perseverance and commitment pay off"

"The German National Scholarship Programme shows that perseverance and commitment on the Lingen Campus pay off. The university and commercial companies in the region work very closely here," explains Dominique da Silva. Prof. Dr. Andreas Bertram, President of Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, also travelled from Osnabrück to Lingen especially for this tribute and congratulated the scholar personally. Over coffee and biscuits amidst a Christmas ambience he also thanked Kampmann GmbH for their support at the same time. Personal sponsors, such as Kampmann, were allowed to actively participate in the decision-making process when selecting the scholars.

Objective: establish a scholarship culture

A total of 39 scholarships were awarded by Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences in collaboration with regional sponsors. The first German National Scholarships provide funding for students who were not only able to make an impression in terms of their excellent academic achievements but also with their long-term commitment within and outwith the university. The German National Scholarship Programme was launched a year ago on the initiative of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The project's objective is to establish a scholarship culture within Germany. Financial support should make studying easier for talented young people.

Diverse and wide-ranging commitment

In addition to Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, Kampmann also collaborates with the Institute for Dual Degree Courses (formerly the Berufsakademie) in Lingen and the Dual University of Baden-Württemberg, amongst others. The funding of high calibre students is not Kampmann GmbH's only commitment as it has also been sponsoring dressage sport for many years. The Lingen-based company is successful throughout the world with its technologically leading systems for heating, cooling and ventilation.
